BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEET OCTOBER 13
A Regular Meeting of
the Village of Mead Board of Trustees was held October 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the
Village Office. Present were Chairman
Guyle and Trustees Havelka, Nicola and Wielage.
Absent was Trustee Wimer. Also
present were Clerk Moline and Utility/Maintenance Supt. Raver. Guests were Melissa Konecky, Rian Harkins,
Craig Reinsch, Ben Day, Brenda Halbmaier and Tanner Shaw.
SCHEDULED GUESTS: Rian Harkins, SENDD, reported the
findings of the Community Survey and that the village does not meet the LMI
(low to medium income) requirements so is not eligible for funding of CDBG
grants. Ben Day and Craig Reinsch,
Olsson Associates, reported the results of the test well. Due to high nitrates this site is not
feasible for construction of a new well.
Discussion was held on future options for a water project. Requirements from the NE Dept. of Health and
Human Services regarding the water load-out were addressed. Brenda Halbmaier asked the board to
reconsider supporting a recycling center and expressed concerns at the park
restrooms. Tanner Shaw, AltEn,
entered discussion on concerns of the request by AltEn to DEQ for an amendment
to the Solid Waste Compost Facility Permit.
Numerous complaints fielded from Trustees were expressed. A Public Hearing will be held in the near
future for discussion by the public.
REPORTS: Police - The monthly police report was
reviewed. Planning Commission -
The minutes of the September 28 Regular Meeting were approved as
presented. Clerk - Moline
reported completion of audit, amendment recommendation from the auditor to the
annual reviews section of the Employee Handbook, meters needing repairs and
Post-Christmas Party options.
NEW
BUSINESS: Resolution 15-21, Sale of
Equipment was adopted. Complaints
regarding tree obstructing view at intersection and overhanging tree and
sidewalk requiring repair were heard.
The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
RECYCLING OPTION - If you are interested in recycling, please
contact Waste Connections at 800-279-7511 to arrange for pickup at your
curb. The cost is $10.00 per month, with
pick up twice per month. Items can be
intermingled.

OF. A DUMPSTER TO DISPOSE OF METAL /
IRON PRODUCTS IS ALSO AVAILABLE AT THE DUMPSITE. ALL LOADS WILL BE CHECKED. THE DUMP IS OPEN TO MEAD
RESIDENTS ONLY AT A CHARGE OF $2.00 PER LOAD, including
metal / iron products dumpster, PAYABLE TO THE DUMPMASTER.

October 23-the Lunch Bunch Book Club will meet from 1130 am-1230 pm. The next
meeting of this new group will be Friday, November 20, at 1130 am.

bring a friend!

October 31-Family Lunch at 11 am with a Family Movie to follow at 12 noon. RSVP

BOARD MEETING Meetings of the Mead Public Library Board are on the third
Wednesday of each month, except December. They are at the library and are open
